School Uniform

At Brampton we believe that the wearing of a school uniform contributes to the children’s sense of belonging to the school community and makes life a lot easier for parents trying to get children ready for school.

Pupils at Brampton Primary School are encouraged to take pride in their general appearance and acceptance of a place for your child assumes that you will support the school’s policy.  We expect that all children will be wearing the correct school uniform when they arrive at school in the mornings. The school uniform is available from a shop called Fashion Stop at 138 High Street North, East Ham.

BOYS GIRLS
  • Black trousers
  • Blue school cardigan, jumper or fleece
  • White shirt, polo shirt or T-shirt
  • Plain black shoes or plain black trainers with black laces
  • An appropriate coat to keep your child warm and dry.
  • Black trousers/black skirt or pinafore dress
  • Blue school cardigan, jumper or fleece
  • Blue ‘Gingham dress’
  • White shirt, polo shirt or T-shirt
  • Sensible flat, plain black shoes or plain black trainers with black laces
  • Black/grey tights or white socks
  • An appropriate coat to keep your child warm and dry.

If you wish your daughter to wear a headscarf/hijab, only black, navy blue or white is permitted.

Jeans and coloured trainers are not permitted for boys or girls. In wet or cold weather the children may wear (Wellington) boots to school and change once they are in school.

Please note: The wearing of jewellery is not permitted except simple ear studs and analogue watches.

  • The school cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury caused by the wearing of jewellery, including watches or inappropriate dress.
  • Nail polish is not allowed.
  • Please mark all your child’s clothing clearly with their name this makes it easier to reunite lost items with their owner.
  • Children should bring in a plain water bottle (750ml maximum) to school.

P.E./Games Uniform

Inside P.E. – School blue T-shirt with logo, black shorts and plimsolls
Outside P.E. – School blue T-shirt with logo, black tracksuit and trainers

Year 4 Swimming Sessions

BOYS GIRLS
  • Swimming trunks (not baggy shorts)
  • Swimming cap
  • Towel
  • One piece swimming costume
  • Swimming cap
  • Towel

For Health and Safety reasons it is essential that no jewellery or inappropriate clothing is worn in P.E. lessons.

If for any reason, your child is not able to wear the correct uniform to school, please send a letter to Mrs Kettory explaining the reasons. If a letter is not received, a member of staff will phone home and ask the parents to bring the correct uniform into school.

Children not wearing the correct school uniform will be sent home with a reminder slip. Children who continue to come to school inappropriately dressed may be asked to change into a spare school uniform.
