A group of 30 Year 5 children had the unique opportunity to visit Madrid last week. Children attended lessons at the Wisdom School, our partner school in Madrid. They shared lunch time with them in their canteen and they played with them during break times. They also made a collaborative poster by painting their hands and leaving their print and a little message for each other. They had a wonderful time and made some very special friends!
We also visited the Royal Palace, the Escorial and the Reina Sofia and Archaeological Museums, where children had the opportunity to learn about the art and culture of Spain.
These are some of the comments that children wrote in the trip diary:
‘I can’t believe how amazing Madrid was. Also, the people were so kind!
‘Today and yesterday has been so much fun at the Wisdom School. The children are so nice to us and I made new friends’
‘Today, we went to El Escorial. I also learnt facts like the Philippines is named after King Philip!’
Irene Leon, the English teacher at the Wisdom School said that this visit was the best experience of her teaching career!
